CA BOCES Board Meeting Deadlines
The CA BOCES Board of Education must approve of any expenditure of funds prior to any event happening at a BOCES location or within a local district. Events that usually require approval by the BOCES Board of Education (and not limited to) may include: Shared staff development opportunities where two or more districts contract with a non-BOCES vendor/contractor/consultant to perform staff development functions. Examples include: Professional Development providers like Thoughtful Classroom/Silver and Strong and Capturing Kids Hearts, Strategic Planning Consultants, and Board of Education Retreat Facilitators. Once approved, these initiatives are invoiced to participating districts. Mary Gilbert (716-376-8227) will usually help with these requests.
Arts performances that are hosted in local districts. Cindy Crandall (716-376-8284) will help with these requests.
Tickets for field trips, class trips, museum visits, and other cultural events. Cindy Crandall (716-376-8284) will help with these requests.
It may be advantageous to participating districts to utilize the BOCES COSER system for shared professional development or most student programming. Doing so will generate BOCES Aid to paying districts, which usually amounts to substantial savings for participating districts. In order to generate BOCES Aid, all programs operating through a BOCES COSER must be Board approved.
Planning ahead is critical. Please use the following schedule to plan for submissions to the BOCES Board for event approval.
