New Teacher Collaborative Learning Community (Part 4 of 4) Action research and component district input have created an opportunity to provide a comprehensive Teacher Academy that meets the needs of new teachers; whether participants are first year, new to a district/grade/content area, in the early years, or looking for new ideas, the Teacher Academy’s topics and differentiated approach will meet their needs. Teachers will collaborate in ongoing professional development, share student work and apply their new learning in their classrooms throughout the year. The following topics will be addressed: Professionalism, and Personalization/Relationships with students (10/5) Classroom Management (11/4) Instructional Delivery (1/11) Assessment for student learning and for professional growth (3/22).

Grade 9-12 ELA: Collaborative Learning Community (Part 3 of 4) High School ELA teachers will engage in opportunities in order to best prepare students for the demands of career and college. Teachers will address such topics as the Common Core Standards and student work analysis in reading and writing. 21st Century skills will be central to our conversations, as well as the importance of improving critical thinking in our students. As a Learning Community, participants will be expected to attend all sessions.
