the U Gotta Go Green! Let’s Get to Work Eco-Extravaganza, taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., October 10, at The Mercato, in North Naples. The 10/10/10 event is expected to include demonstrations and workshops featur-


ing solar-powered bikes, organic cooking, gardening, birdhouse-building and rain barrel-making; exhibits of alternative energy and green automobiles; artwork created from recycled materials; registration for mangrove planting; farm tours; and Gulf oil disaster action groups and other organizations. It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity to support our local economy while helping the environment. The eco-extravaganza is being orchestrated by 350.org, an international move-


ment organized to support clean energy and find solutions to climate change. The 350 ppm goal of carbon in the atmosphere has become a symbol of environmental action around the world.

themes at the Airport Professional Center Health Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Septem- ber 18, at the Airport Professional Center, in Naples. Local health- care professionals will offer com- plimentary evaluations and mini-treatments, free diabetes screening and discounts on cholesterol testing and towards other health services. Attendees can learn more about acupuncture; chiropractic; massage therapy;


facial treatments and rejuvenation; body wraps; pain management; health, lifestyle and weight management; cellulite reduction treatments; and more. Free educational lectures include “True Health & Wellness,” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., by Dr. Richard Barone; “The BioPuncture Alternative to Surgery,” from 11:30 a.m. to noon, by Nick Shirghio, DOM; and “Lose Weight, Look Great,” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., by Terri Evans, DOM.
