REMODELORS COUNCIL NEWS

The Showcase Showdown A

fter 25 years belonging to this great organization, I am still in awe of the people who make up the Remodelors Council and the GHBA. When we put our minds to something, we can really make things happen!

On July 13, the Remodelors Council (RMC) hosted its first Vendor Showcase networking event at St. Arnold’s Brewery.

Twenty-five generous vendors

purchased tables, and came out to provide information about their products and services in an informal festive environment. I was excited when Maggie Medellin, chair of the RMC Speakers and Sponsors Committee, reported that nearly all of the available tables were purchased weeks before this inaugural event.

As it turns out, St. Arnold’s lived up to the hype, and turned out to be great place to mingle and mix with other professionals. Remodelers, builders, developers and other GHBA members showed up in full force, ready to ‘shop’ our vendors. Information flowed freely, and so did the beer (only two each, TOY!), and a wealth of ideas were shared.

To all of our vendors, thank you so much for your support! And as always, remember, members work with members first.

In the past two years, the council raised more than $18,000 for these types of projects and 2010 will be no different.

This year, our charity project will involve remodeling work for the Santa Maria 38 AUGUST 2010 | HOUSTON BUILDER | GREATER HOUSTON BUILDERS ASSOCIATION – BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE
