2010 New Home & Remodeling Show
Post-Show Wrap-Up
Nearly 5,000 consumers attended the 18th Annual New Home & Remodeling Show at the Reliant Center on June 12 and 13, more than doubling last year’s attendance. Sponsored by Frontier Custom Builders, which built a spectacular 3,500 sq. ft. showcase home in the center of the exhibit hall, there were 145 exhibitors filling more than 170 booths and featured areas. Approximately 225 participants included exhibitors, sponsors, seminar speaker, and volunteers, such as donors to the Green Built Gulf Coast display, HomeAid Houston’s Project Playhouse and Radio Disney’s live family show. Ninety per cent of the attendees redeemed free tickets distributed at 30 Best Buy stores in the Houston area.
The free ticket promotion created by the Trade Show Committee and show partners Best Buy was sponsored by Builders Mechanical A/C & Heating, Sherwin-Williams Paint Company, Frontier, the Houston Chronicle, Houston Lifestyles & Homes, The Greensheet, Senior News and Clear Channel’s 9-5-0 Radio Mojo. According to exhibitors at the show, and through the post-show participant survey GHBA conducted, attendees were focused, and ready to buy build or remodel a home. Many exhibitors added that the New Home & Remodeling Show is the best home show in which they participate each year, or the only one, due to the seriousness of the attendees and the strength of leads generated from GHBA’s premier public event.
