4. Infrared saunas Helo’s range of infrared saunas are very versatile. They have a quick heat up time by use of the infrared heating lamps. There’s a more traditional sauna experience once the sauna stove has reached the temperature you need. Made from 18mm thick Scandinavian Pine, the cabins are finished in a red Cedar wood on the interior. The backrests and benches are made from Obeche wood, which is splinter free as well as heat repelling. ■ Helo (UK) Ltd

Saunas that we just love!

1. Fun barrel sauna This fun Barrel Sauna is perfect for an outside sauna. It is made of western red cedar that offers strength, stability, and long lasting beauty. It’s energy efficient and low maintenance. You can put it together yourself. The two seater is 6ft by 4ft and costs £3,995 and the four seater at 6ft by 6ft costs £4,995. ■ Elite Spas

2. Shower and sauna double Sauna owners are often put off by space problems. It is however possible to fit a sauna in a very tight space. This great idea of combining a high quality shower with a neat but effective sauna comes

from Tylӧ. It’s a double act which really works well even in a restricted space. We specially like this as a compact stylish sauna which might appeal to the pockets of first time sauna buyers. It’s from the

respected Tylӧ brand range of saunas. ■ Golden Coast

3. A touch of class Dröm UK’s range of Tylӧ sauna’s includes Vital Vision which is our favourite at the top end of the

market. Prices start at about £7,500. Vital Vision is the most exclusive of the prefabricated sauna rooms. It has specially selected materials, an innovative design and Vision raises the standard. It includes a thermally insulated wall and ceiling sections and is fitted with a bar! ■ Dröm UK

Any spare corner can become a steam shower

Any three-sided area, a spare corner or a planned standard shower adjacent to a pool can now be turned into a steam- shower with the help of the ‘Tonic Tx 202g’, one of the latest products from Swedish sauna cabin and steam room manufacturer, Tylö.

Providing the ‘fourth wall’, the Tonic Tx 202g stand-alone steam-shower column comes with an integral steam room door and can also be supplied with additional glazed wall sections to transform any corner area. If required a custom-made dome to ‘seal’ the steam room can also be supplied.

Incorporating a hand shower and a fixed overhead shower rose, the column is also equipped with an in-built steam generator feeding a discreet steam outlet. An external panel controls the steam bath functions, whilst the shower is operated at the discretion of the bather, either as a normal shower or as part of the steam-bathing experience.

Alternatively, whether located near a pool or in a bathroom, the Tylö Impression range offers the ingenious combination of practical everyday shower functions as well as incorporating steam or the more intense sauna bathing – all from one unit.

Requiring a total floor area of just 1.3 square metres, the Impression ‘i130’ single steam-shower measures 1325 x 925 mm, whilst the slightly larger two-person ‘i170’, at 1725 x 925 mm, requires just 1.7 sq m and offers the same practicality but includes a second bench.

Those wanting the hotter sensation of a sauna can choose the Impression ‘ix210’, where Tylö has overcome the inherent problem of mixing dry sauna, showering and steam bathing (optional) within a single enclosure by incorporating a sealed sliding door to separate the dry sauna and wet shower/steam areas.

Supplied with wall, ceiling and door sections, lighting and a specially designed benches, all units come pre- plumbed and wired, with the walls of the ‘i170’ and ‘ix210’ allowing the units to be configured to suit any layout.
