Saunas can reduce levels of stress hormones Stylish open seating sauna from Dröm UK
The moist heat in saunas induces relaxation and sweating, relieves congestion, and reduces arthritic pain. Saunas are particularly good for patients with respiratory conditions including asthma and bronchitis. In patients with arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome, saunas are thought to increase joint mobility and reduce pain and inflammation.
In the home setting, the sauna is used to improve health conditions, particularly arthritis, and as a form of relaxation. By promoting relaxation, saunas are reported to reduce levels of stress hormones, increase levels of beta-endorphins, and promote wellbeing.
An average sauna session takes about 10-30 minutes. Prolonged use of saunas can lower diastolic blood pressure and deplete the body of electrolytes and other nutrients. The dehydrating effects of alcohol and certain medications, such as antihistamines, compound these effects. For this reason, the use of alcohol should be avoided before, during, and immediately after sauna sessions.
Why infrared saunas have ‘raised the bar’
The infrared heater has raised the bar when it comes to sauna efficiency. Infrared heaters heat the people and the material in the sauna unlike the traditional sauna which heats the air. Infrared heaters have the advantage of being used outdoors as it doesn’t need ventilation.
The infrared is a frequency band of lightwave which people can’t see and the heat produced is called Infrared Radiation. They do not produce atomic radiation or sunburn which is common with Ultraviolent Radiation. Compared to steam saunas, infrared saunas have some key advantages. For customers who like cooler saunas, they have the feature of heating up to low temperatures. This feature also makes them cost effective because of the lower consumption of electricity. They heat quickly compared to the conventional saunas. As traditional saunas generate hot dry air, some people find it difficult to breathe in them as it makes them uncomfortable.
Utilise that corner and turn up the heat – Tylö’s Round Vision Sauna available from Golden Coast
As infrared saunas do not heat the air, the quality of the air is the same inside and outside. Infrared saunas offer easy installation and portability because water is not used and also one need not worry about the issue of bacterial growth in damper regions.
