The Swinscoe’s swimming pool turned out to be an award winner
requirements within the allocated budget, Asher Swimpool Centre implemented a manual safety cover that would ensure the pool was safe when it wasn’t being used.
Mrs Swinscoe said: “The build was much quicker and efficient than we imagined. The garden was left beautifully; you wouldn’t have guessed there had been a team of builders on site! “We are absolutely delighted with our pool; it fits into our garden perfectly. Since we have had the pool installed we have used the garden so much more. My husband and I go for a swim at least once a day during the summer and the children and grandchildren love visiting and having fun in it. It has definitely created a more fun and sociable environment for us to enjoy together.” At this year’s SPATA awards – an annual event held to recognise award winning swimming pool design – Asher Swimpool Centre was acknowledged for its design for Mr and Mrs Swinscoe winning the gold award for ‘Liner Pools up to £35,000’.
Chris Hayes, Managing Director of SPATA said: “The award judges said this particular pool was an incredibly thoughtful design and showed good use of the stone surround. This is a great demonstration of how a swimming pool can be built on a small budget in keeping with it’s surroundings.” Mrs Swinscoe said she would recommend a pool to all of her friends and family. “Since we have had the pool installed, it has changed our lives. My husband has a stressful job, and so after a long day at work the best remedy is a swim! “My daughter has enjoyed using our pool so much she is now looking to move house, to somewhere that she can have a pool fitted into her garden too.”
Recently vinyl pools have gained in popularity. Their design and construction techniques minimise material content, reducing the overall cost of the pool. There are many ways of building a vinyl liner pool but a solid concrete blockwall and a concrete floor as backing to the PVC liner is the most satisfactory long term investment.
