For the purposes of this exercise we have illustrated the effect of regionalising the forces as outlined on previous pages. This would reduce the need for as many ACPO and SMT ranks by over 50%, without affecting the frontline resource commitment. This would only increase by releasing many thousands of office based personnel back into front line resourcing.
