CHARITY CHORAL CONCERT AT ST CUTHBERT’S CHURCH
The Choir helped raise funds for the charity Hearts and Balls with a recent concert at St Cuthbert’s Church.
CHERNOBYL CHILDREN VISIT
The School welcomed groups of primary age children from the Chernobyl area of the Ukraine, who were spending a month in the UK. The children enjoyed the facilities, and met with staff and pupils. Many children from this area still suffer from the after-effects of the 1986 disaster.
BO’NESS CHILDRENS FAIR
PRINGLE SPONSORED HILLWALK
The Summer Term Pringle sponsored walk raised over £5,400 for SignPost International, a Dundee based international development charity, who are initiating a village school project in India. Boys presented a cheque to the charity at Pringle Assembly.
GREAT EDINBURGH 10K RUN
Around 260 boys, staff and parents took part in the Great Edinburgh 10K Run to raise money for the charity Hearts and Balls. ‘Team Merchiston’ had a separate start wave at the run and received lots of press coverage for the team’s efforts in raising over £55,000. The event saw all members of the Merchiston community come together to support this worthy charity that has helped a former pupil. A giant cheque was presented to Hearts and Balls at Assembly.

The Junior Pipe Band took part in the Annual Bo’ness Children’s Fair in June. The boys piped in the fairies at the celebrations, which see thousands of local residents come together to celebrate the crowning of the Queen.
