PRINGLE
OUTDOOR ACTION!
Pringle have enjoyed lots of trips this year with outdoor adventure aplenty at annual visits to Blakerston, Solway Bank and R’ua Fiola. J4 and J5 also enjoyed trips to North Berwick and Dalguise, and the First Form visited Loch Insh.
PLANTING THE SEEDS OF KNOWLEDGE!
CASE STUDY
ANDREW, FIRST FORM
As part of their programme of co- curricular activities just prior to Half Term, J4 and J5 went to the Botanic Gardens.
All my brothers have come to Merchiston before me; in fact I first visited the School when I was 6 months old! I started the First Form in September 2009, and it’s been action packed since then! What I really enjoy is the sport; there are so many sports you can choose from, it’s great. I am a boarder so I’m involved in all aspects of School life. In your free time you can go to rugby matches and on trips; there are loads of choices on how you spend your time.
LEMONY SNICKET
At the start of the Lent Term boys in Pringle were some of the lucky Edinburgh school children who got to meet Lemony Snicket, the author of ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’, at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh.
NEW PRINGLE PLAY AREA
New play
equipment for Pringle was
recently donated
by a set of former Merchiston parents.
The Junior School recently took part in a Scottish Opera Workshop with St George’s School for Girls.

SCOTTISH OPERA WORKSHOP
I really like English and public speaking, and I had never done any Design and Technology before I came here. I play in the Pipe Band, and as there was no band in my last school, I can now compete in competitions and play at events.
All my brothers have been Deputy Head of the Third Form and in a few years I hope to follow in their footsteps!
