One unlikely place to see elephants up close in their natural habitat is a hotel which was built in the middle of an elephant migration path. Mfuwe Lodge in Zambia happens to have been built next to a mango tree that one family of pachyderms have always visited when the fruit ripens. When they returned one year and found the luxury accommodation in the way, they simply walked through reception lobby. Please be an advocate for returning animals and marine creatures to their own natural habitat. Think of yourself being torn from your family, put behind bars, often with no privacy while hundreds of tourists gawk at you. Often these animals have little or no privacy or solitude. They are bored to distraction an they have no right to a lawyer – there is no habeas corpus for them. If an animal becomes aggressive, or exhibits antisocial behavior, is it any wonder?
