Home to over a hundred tenants, the
Distillery’s of-its-era appointments
remain intact,an architectural legacy
that literally transports me back to 1929.
All I’m missing is a bowler hat and spats
on my shoes.
Rustic event spaces are featured here,as
is Soma,a tempting chocolate shop. If
yesterday’s scallops and pork belly were

bistro,British pub,Italian café and Orient
eating areas, with a central market full of

ness. Then,I’m back in line again
(www.richtree.ca)...

lost in old neighborhoods, stopping for a
beer at a sports pub,and then I take a
tour of the Hockey Hall of Fame. I gaze
upon the hallowed Stanley Cup. I didn’t
know the first team listed on the very
top of the very first Cup is the 1925-26
Montreal Maroons!
Later, dinner is at The Fifth Grill &
Terrace (www.thefifth.com),which gives
off a Coconut Grove supper club vibe -
glam and sophisticated in its enclosed
terrace; a smooth, jazzy piano player tin-
kling the 88s nearby.
