Born 1979 in Paris, France, eddy rocq had a passion for food at the young
age of 14, beginning at the Bobigny Private school near Paris. after one
year, eddy transferred to the Mederic Culinary school of Paris. it was there
that he obtained various degrees in culinary certification as chef, as well as
pastry chef. eddy explains, “in my senior year of school i was approached by
a sponsor who asked if i would like to come to america or Japan. i had also
recently been in a French pastry contest, called “seduce” and won first place.
as a result, he asked me if i wanted to get sponsored by the world renowned
international toque Blanche association. i can now pretty much work any-
where in the world!”
in fact, during his five years of training, eddy traveled throughout different
regions of France learning varied techniques and flavors of gourmet cuisine
in restaurants such as France le relais saint Michel in normandie, les Fermes
de Marie in the alps, l’hotel de la Mer in Brittany, hotel de Crillon and the
five star Meridien Place de la Concorde in Paris.
in 1999, rocq moved to southern California and now resides in ladera
ranch. eddy elaborates, “i work in hollywood a lot, but serve from los ange-
les to san diego. i actually cooked for Mr. and Mrs. Marx of the Marx Brothers
and a lot of celebrities such as angelina Jolie, tom Cruise, tom hanks, snoop
dog and Britney spears. i actually met Michael Jackson last year along with
many others celebrities.” eddy was the executive and private chef for Chris-
tian audigier, the creator of the fashion label “ed hardy.”
anyone who is fitness-minded will tell you that a good diet along with
exercise is crucial to maintain optimum health and a trim physique. as a
celebrity fitness chef, eddy rocq has been working for years with many top
stars to help to keep them in the shape their careers demand with exercise
and well-planned out healthy meals.
eddy definitely practices what he preaches, he is a professional fitness
trainer and competes in many fitness / modeling competitions. eddy adds,
“i did a fitness website called the My Fit tribe (you can find some video clips
online). i’m also planning a future television project.”
eddy goes on to give us some tips that everyday people at home can use.
eddy says, “if you’re overweight and you train...but if you don’t watch your
nutrition you’re not going to improve, it’s not going to happen. you shouldn’t
eat too late at night. it is best to eat more in the morning and have small
meals afterward so that you have all day to burn the calories. it is important
to lower sodium intake; fruits are okay but avoid sugar. eating fiber daily is
very good for you and lots of protein, but you should avoid fat. you also want
to avoid white flour, have whole grain wheat bread and pastas instead. it’s
okay if you have carbs and pasta before you go to the gym for training to
burn it off.” eddy also shares his opinion on organically grown products. “it’s
not necessary to buy organic but its better. there are less chemicals and stuff
like that. always buy items that are in season. Buying fruits and vegetables
in smaller quantities is also good so they are always fresh and you can save
on waste.”
eddy caters all special occasions and also enjoys sharing his culinary talent
teaching classes in private homes and public venues. eddy explains, “usually
the classes are about two hours and the price range is around $65. per per-
son, but varies. We try to keep it affordable even though you are receiving a
five-star dining experience. We also offer gift certificates for classes during
the holidays that make a special and unusual gift.”
