Medea starring Annette bening
Noted film and theatre actress Annette Bening currently stars in this edgy new
staging of Euripide’s classic play called Medea. Internationally known theatre
director Lenka Udovicki wanted this world-premiere production to be both time-
less and contemporary as his vision was of Medea portrayed by Benning to be a
more sympathetic person, a women who is led to the unthinkable as she is aban-
doned by her lover and is driven to face her impending exile. Medea is playing now
through October 18 at The Freud Playhouse in Royce Hall located at 340 Royce
Drive in Los Angeles. Tickets range from $80 to $120 and tickets for UCLA students
are $20. More information about Medea and can be found at uclalive.org.
Spamalot
The Orange County Performing Arts Center brings us the 2005 Tony

musical comedy, “lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film classic Monty Py-
thon and The Holy Grail.” Like the film it is a highly irreverent parody of King
Arthur and his court—but it differs from the film in many ways, with added
