TSCRA Policy Conference Comes to Austin, Sept. 28 to 30 HE TEXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE RAISERS
Association (TSCRA) Policy Conference will offer an in-depth perspective and broad range
of sessions highlighting the intersection of ranching and public policy. Topics will include private property rights, water
rights, sustainability, property taxes, surface damages, border issues, livestock title transfer, the veterinary feed directive, research priorities, and much more. Participants will include ranchers, landowners, public policy makers, and elected offi cials from around the region. The upcoming national elections and Texas legislative session will also be discussed. Confi rmed speakers include:
• Evan Smith, CEO and co-founder of The Texas Tri- bune, will share his perspective on the upcoming election and Texas legislative session
• David LeBas, Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC, will discuss livestock title transfer and how to protect yourself when selling cattle
• Randy Prince, chief, Texas Rangers, will provide an update on border activities undertaken by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) All TSCRA members are invited to attend the con- ference. All TSCRA policy committees will meet dur-

Scholz Garten has been in continuous operation since 1866 and is the oldest oper- ating business in Texas. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has been recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark.
