3 years of fun at the world’s most OTT waterpark

ince opening in late January 2013, Yas Waterworld has entertained millions of guests with its unique Emirati theme and world-first attractions. Rumoured at
the time to most expensive waterpark ever built, it’s certainly one of the most intense in terms of pure ride/slide hardware and theming. “The park continued to exceed all of our expectations
through 2015, with positive responses from our guests from within the UAE as well as from the region and across the world,” says Tim Mow, general manager for the waterpark at Yas Island, adjacent to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
As well as a number of initiatives last like a new pearl-
themed ladies night and “Cool School” events, Yas Waterworld hosted the World Flowboarding Championships on its Bubbles’ Barrel surf simulator, which is the largest FlowBarrel Double sheet wave ride in the world. Team UAE beat participants from 10 countries across the world for the second year in a row! The waterpark also picked up four regional and international awards in 2015, including the Traveler’s Choice Award and a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor.
