Splashworld Provence

Located near Avignon in the southern Provence-Alpes- Côte d'Azur region of France, the first phase of Splashworld Provence covers an area of 45,000 sq m (484.375 sq ft). Headline attractions at the tropical- themed park include Da Wave, which is the world’s largest surf simulator (by Pacific Surf); Huricana Sliiide, Europe's tallest freefall slide by Polin (33m/108ft); and Ohana, Europe’s longest lazy river. All of the other slides were supplied by Polin, including Aloha Racer (eight- lane mat racer), Banzaii Bomber (18m/59ft "rocket launch" freefall slide), Mini Kuntaa Chutes (Blackhole/Rafting Slide/Uphill Navigatour), Kina Kuntaa Chutes (two Navigatours), Kind'a LoOops. (Black Hole), Tikki LoOops (another Black Hole), Splash Breaker (water coaster combined with two giant Spheres). Also featured are the Adventure Island multi-level

play structure by Polin, the 950 sq m (10,225-sq ft) Ri’kiki Bay wave pool, Kay-Ki Cover toddler pool and an activity area where guests can go swimming, canoeing, ride a pedal boat, fish, bird watch, jog or walk the fitness trail. Private beaches, a retail store, three food outlets, a cashless payment system and ‘Splash Pass’ that provides fast-pass access to side platforms round out the park's well-planned offerings.

(635m), and “Da Wave“, supplied by Pacific Surf Design from San Diego, which has just been certified by Guinness as the world’s largest surf simulator/artificial wave. Da Wave is located in a free access area of the park

named the Wave Club, which also features a themed restaurant, a bar and its own dressing rooms and lockers. The Wave Club operates autonomously, over a season running from Easter to November and with extended operation hours. By operating Da Wave as a pay-as-you-go attraction, except for the park’s guests, we made a tactical decision to optimize the most significant investment in the park. Indeed, surfers love surfing whenever there are waves, even in winter and we immediately had a lot of members signing up for it. While in the daytime the Wave Club appeals mostly to families, it turns into a spectacular themed bar from sunset to 1am. Featuring surf shows performed by US and Australian pro- surfers to the beat of a resident and guests DJs, the Wave Club has immediately become a very popular hang-out for young and young at heart adults. We are the first French waterpark with a cashless payment

system for its guests. Although it increased our cap ex, reducing the hassle of cash management and the additional guest comfort it provides (no need to worry about retrieving cash stored in the lockers) made it a unavoidable choice. Last, but not least, Splashworld Provence is an actual

theme waterpark. Themed buildings, lush vegetation, especially along the lazy river, and a family of live characters create a ‘funtastic’ atmosphere.

Europe’s tallest freefall slide!
