NEWS ROUND-UP IN THE PICTURE: Tipto tea
Tipto held its third annual afternoon tea for members to network with key trade partners. This year 54 agents and operators attended
the event at The Savoy in London. In the past six months, Tipto has overhauled
its constitution to allow more tour operators to join and opened up its roadshows to the multiples. It now has 19 members. Chairman Zena Hill said: “We have had
a fantastic start to the year. We want to open Tipto up to more agents. We have seen more agents in the last four months than we have in the last five years.”

River cruise and escorted tour specialist Scenic will offer ocean cruises for the first time when it introduces ‘discovery yacht’ Scenic Eclipse in August 2018.
The 228-passenger ship is being built in Croatia and will sail to North and South America, Antarctica, Europe, the Mediterranean and the Arctic. The ship will have a seven-seat submarine, 12 Zodiacs, kayaks and two seven-seat helicopters on board, allowing guests to “discover regions usually not accessible on cruises”. Prices for excursions on the submarine and helicopters are yet to be announced, but the line said they would be “affordable”. Chris Townson, Scenic’s UK managing director, said the plans would “open up a whole new world of ocean cruising”. “There will be nothing quite like
