HO — Rapido Trains announces Northern Pacific’s 10,000-series box- car as an all-new HO-scale release. The boxcar went into service in the 1920s and came from Western Steel Foundry. Northern Pacific’s roster to- taled 4,000 examples that saw service into the 1950s. Working in conjunc- tion with the Northern Pacific Rail- way Historical Association, Rapido Trains’ new model will include full underframe details, including rivet- ed center sill, AB- or K-brakes as per prototype, plus factory-installed wire grab irons. The assembled model will come in four authentic Northern Pa- cific paint schemes.

HO — Recently delivered from Tan- gent Scale Models is an all-new Pull- man-Standard PS-3 hopper car mod- el. This HO-scale replica presents a coal hopper introduced in the late 1950s featuring a 70-ton capacity. The three-bay hopper with rib-sides comes with numerous road-specific details including raised ends on select road names. The 2,750-cubic-foot ca- pacity prototype came from Pullman- Standard’s plants in Alabama and Pennsylvania beginning in 1957.
