flush pull handles. Other products will include VRTP spoked handwheels, the Elesa graduated ring control mechanism, and Elesa I.780 handles. Visitors will also be able to find out about EPLAN’s engineering design program (CAE), which offers options for the planning, documentation and management of electrical design projects. The EPLAN ‘platform’ supports interdisciplinary work, from fluid and process engineering to harness and enclosure design. EPLAN automates the time consuming tasks of design such as automatic wire numbering, device tagging, cross referencing and error checking; reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the software gives users access to the EPLAN Data Portal. Panasonic Electric Works UK will

showcase its newest additions, including two different production methods for 3D moulded circuit solutions known as MIPTEC and LDS. Also on show will be the next generation MOSFET technology relays; the new HE series PCB relays; and Passive infrared Sensors. New from Infolytica, MagNet for

SOLIDWORKS is the company’s electromagnetic field simulation add-in. SOLIDWORKS users who need to design and analyse electromagnetic or electromechanical devices can use this new embedded 3D electromagnetic field solver tool directly in their preferred CAD

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING The Advanced Manufacturing Show will feature over 50 manufacturers and suppliers of advanced production engineering technology, with highlights including machining and turning centres, sheet-metal working, metrology, tooling, work-holding and CAD/CAM software. The show will feature live machining

demonstrations and new product launches; and visitors can attend free conference sessions dedicated to advanced manufacturing technology. Topics include Industry 4.0, the factory of the future, additive manufacturing, and the project to build Britain’s new aircraft carriers. Exhibitors here will include BISON UK,

which will be exhibiting a selection of its workholding products. The company will be showing lathe chucks, independent chucks, power chucks, machine vices and spindle tooling, etc. Delcam, meanwhile, will demonstrate its latest developments, with products on show including PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining; FeatureCAM for quick and easy feature-based CAM programming; and PartMaker for turn- mill equipment and Swiss-type lathes. Demonstrated on the 1st MTA stand

will be equipment manufactured by Tecnomagnete, Italy, for workholding on machine tools and for handling sheet, bar and other ferrous materials in warehouses and factories. FARO UK, meanwhile, will be debuting

environment. The simulation and analysis of any electromagnetic device can be performed completely within the SOLIDWORKS environment. LCDTek, meanwhile, will be promoting the new high performance range of TFT displays from EDT, offering high brightness, high resolution, super wide viewing angle and extended backlight lifetime. Another exhibitor is WMG, based at

the University of Warwick, which works collaboratively with business to simplify the transfer of cutting-edge university research to industry. Working in collaboration with Envisage, it helped turn a physical prototype model – an aeroplane seat – into a digital prototype

34 MAY 2015 | DESIGN SOLUTIONS

FARO Freestyle3D, a handheld Laser Scanner which is said to be the only industrial-grade handheld device that allows users to scan almost any kind of surface in nearly any kind of environment. Also on show will be the FARO Edge ScanArm HD, which combines the flexibility and the functionalities of a FARO Edge measuring Arm with the high-definition Laser Line Probe HD. ln addition, KASTO will present its new

KASTOwin range of five fully-automatic bandsaws with maximum cutting capacities from 330 to 1,060mm, which are suitable for processing a variety of materials, especially steels, in stockholding and manufacturing. Making a debut on the OGP stand will be the Vici Vision MTL 1. Designed to enable the rapid feedback of part dimensions to the manufacturing process, these perform fast and accurate external dimensional profile measurements on cylindrical parts, such as shafts, valves, screws, and threaded inserts. Full-Scan processing secures a complete, precise profile part scan in a single pass, allowing tens or even hundreds of features to be precisely

measured in the same fast cycle time. Also on show will be the Vantage 450, a multi- sensor coordinate measurement system. Visitors will also be able to find out how

Nikon Metrology’s digital cross scanners are speeding prototype development at a German automotive equipment supplier. The XC65Dx scanner features three laser lines projected at different angles to measure complex shapes with a minimal number of probe head rotations. Mechatronic Solutions will be showing

its newly launched Robopod, which offers a standardised open platform for robot applications introducing packaged, plug and play robotics for all manufacturing industries. Robopod can be configured to suit any technology or application. It is equipped with an integrated IPC and PLC control, safety and pneumatic circuits, and a 6-axis ceiling-mounted robot – all housed in a self-contained steel enclosure. Also at the show is Zoller UK which

will be demonstrating pre-setters to suit all budgets and situations. The company will also be showing the benefits of its Tool Management Software, TMS, which is said to provide optimal management of tool data and enhanced machine tool utilisation. TRUMPF will be informing visitors about the latest developments in laser technology and its expertise in integrating lasers into machines and production lines. According to the company, whatever the application it has the right laser and the right technology to manufacture products in an innovative and cost-efficient manner – in any industry and in all ranges from macro and micro to nano. XYZ Machine Tools will be

demonstrating machinery, with particular focus on the productivity gains that can be achieved using the portable XYZ 2-OP vertical machining centre. The company will also demonstrate the ability and simplicity of the ProtoTRAK control on an XYZ SMX 3500 bed mill and an XYZ ProTURN SLX 355 lathe.
