he new DATAPAQ TP3 data logger provides more measurement channels, connectivity options, and
ease of use for profiling and surveying in high- temperature heat treatment applications. With a ±0.3 °C (0.5 °F) accuracy, the all-new logger surpasses the most stringent requirements. “We have worked towards this exciting launch for two years,” states Elie El Choueiry, Furnace and Kiln Product Manager at Datapaq Ltd., Cambridge, UK. “Compared to our previous, successful heat treatment solution TPAQ21, the new DATAPAQ TP3 provides even more detailed insight into high- temperature processes. It is more resilient and includes numerous new features, such as full connectivity including Bluetooth, fully certified TUS capability for AMS 2750E and CQI-9, integrated correction and calibration functions, and flexible charging with multiple battery options.” The new series comprises 20- and 10-channel loggers that store up to 3.6 million data points.

environments has upgraded and expanded its production facilities with a free-standing blast-room with high-grade noise containment from Hodge Clemco. Quality Hydraulic Products Ltd (QHP) manufactures the accumulators in standard and bespoke designs for customers throughout the world in many sectors including off-shore oil and gas, petro-chemicals, mining and defence. The company’s products meet the highest international standards in the relevant industries. The accumulator bodies are manufactured from solid carbon and stainless steel billets, which are bored out to the required dimensions before being painted and having the internal mechanisms installed. The cylinders range from 10 litres to 400 litres capacity, weighing up to two tonnes. The new blast-room, measuring 3m wide x 2.5m high x 6m long and located within a production area, is dedicated to surface preparation of carbon steel cylinders before they are painted. Walls and roof are double-skin prefabricated steel panels filled with mineral wool slab which reduces noise levels outside the room by up to 30dBA compared with a conventional design. Walls and doors are lined with shot- blast curtains, and the floor is steel plate. Media is projected by a 2452 SGV blasting machine via a tungsten-carbide-lined nozzle, which is designed to maintain maximum blasting velocity, uniform abrasive distribution and high work-rate over a long operating life. Air inlet ducts and exhaust air outlets in the chamber ensure highly effective cross-draught ventilation in order to provide good visibility for operators. Abrasive is recovered for re-use by means of a pneumatic suction filter unit linked to a sweep-in hopper in the floor of the blast room. A vacuum silo receives all spent media, dust and debris from the floor hopper, separates out re-usable abrasive and places it into a storage hopper from where it automatically re-fills the blast machine. The system is adjustable to allow for different types of abrasive. Hodge Clemco also supplied a protective suit and an Apollo 600CE helmet with several advanced features for operator safety and comfort.

he recently introduced range of band saw machines from the L.S. Starrett Company offer UK manufacturing companies a cost-effective method of efficiently cutting ferrous and non-ferrous
stock raw material. Based on decades of experience designing and producing saw blades, all of Starrett’s knowledge and expertise has been applied to the design and build of the semi-automatic machines to provide class-leading material cutting performance. Ideally suited to a wide range of industry sectors the Starrett S4230 and S4240 semi-automatic machines feature state-of-the-art technology that has been specifically adapted to increase the capabilities of the band sawing machines. As Technical Support Team Leader, Graham Munro, explains: “Within many manufacturing businesses the band saw often suffers from mistreatment, and is seen as the ‘ugly step-sister’. With this in mind we have designed and built the Starrett machines for ease-of-use, they are very robust with reliability levels twice the industry norm, to help stand up to any harsh treatment.”

Process Flowmeter Selection Pack Simplifies Flowmeter Selection
applications. Featuring a White Paper, application guide, webinar presentation and video, the pack explains the key differences between volumetric and mass flow methods and how to choose the right method for industrial process applications. Understanding how to correctly select the right flow variable can lead to significant improvements in process performance and cost effectiveness. Though both technologies will deliver almost identical results under certain conditions, the deviations that can occur where a process is subject to pressure and temperature changes makes it crucial to make the right choice from the outset.

and Abrasive Liquids at Achema
Pumping Corrosive W
anner International will display its full range of Hydra-Cell diaphragm pumps at Achema 2015
on Stand L53 Hall 8 with the theme: “Hydra-Cell seal-less pump technology… Its different”. The unique and advantageous differences will be highlighted
in product displays, working
demonstrations and cutaway pump models. Compact in size, Hydra-Cell pumps have a seal-less design that eliminates leaks, hazards and the expense associated with replacing dynamic rotary seals and packing. They can operate with a closed or blocked suction line and run dry indefinitely without damage, eliminating downtime and associated repair costs. API 674 configurations of Hydra-Cell pumps are also available as are versions with ATEX Cat 2 Zone 1 & Cat 3 Zone compliance. The Hydra-Cell metering and dosing range will also be featured, with focus on the electronic and mechanical adjustment control options now available.
