PREVIEW SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO 2015
TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY SERVICES DEMONSTRATED
HAND-HELD EMF INSTRUMENT
Arco, the UK’s leading safety company will showcase its expertise and offerings as a provider of training, consultancy and site services across four areas: Mortal Risk, Industrial Occupational Hygiene and Health, Hazard Control and Safety Competence. Demonstrations of Mortal Risk
solutions promise to be lively and practical. Arco’s stand will incorporate a scaffolding tower where live rescue and working at height demonstrations will be delivered by Total Access, now part of the Arco family. In the Atrium visitors can meet the experts from Arco’s Training and Consultancy team and look around one of its award-winning fleet of mobile confined spaces training unit. For Industrial Occupational Hygiene
Link Microtek, the leading UK supplier of EMF (electromagnetic field) safety equipment, will be exhibiting a new hand- held instrument that provides health and safety professionals with an easy means of proving compliance with the EMF Directive which comes into force in July 2016. Manufactured by Narda Safety Test Solutions, the ELT-400 Model 107 exposure level tester is as straightforward to operate as a noise meter, displaying magnetic field strengths as a percentage of the High, Low and Limb Action Levels defined in the EMF Directive. Covering a wide frequency range of 1Hz to 400kHz, the instrument features a rugged housing and will particularly appeal to industrial firms that use welding or non-destructive testing processes or other low-frequency/ high-current equipment such as induction furnaces and dielectric heaters. Additionally on show will be Narda’s
NBM series of EMF meters. Operating over the frequency range 100-60GHz they are designed for measuring field strengths in the vicinity of telecoms, broadcast, industrial or military transmitters. The latest Nardalert S3 range of personal safety monitors emit visual, audible and vibration alarms to alert the user if field strength exceeds the exposure limits specified in the EMF Directive.

Enter 324 SUBSTANTIAL ADVANTAGES FROM RAISING THE BARRIERS
After three years of intensive development and testing, A-SAFE will be showcasing their new range: iFlex. The full scope of products will be unveiled throughout 2015 but cutting edge iFlex products are already being installed in select locations across the globe. iFlex advances A-SAFE’s world-leading range of protective barriers and adds a host of never- before-seen innovations. Posts and rails are significantly stronger, allowing for up to 50% longer rails. This reduces the number of fixing holes that need drilling and improves installation speed. The new barriers have improved modularity which assists with repairs, assembly and disassembly including the ability to replace single rails or posts without the need to uproot a whole run. A multi-directional capability means the barriers
can be more effectively and efficiently distributed throughout a facility. Innovative seals and an absence of joints means there are no ingress points where dust, water or debris can collect. Naturally, this is a bonus for the long-term structural integrity of the barriers but the hygiene boost for food and drink facilities or the pharmaceutical industry has the potential to be revolutionary. Alongside these and other innovations, the simple
principles of A-SAFE barriers: the principles that have proved so successful for many blue chip companies (Coca-Cola, DHL, Jaguar Landrover, Unilever, Heathrow Airport) remain in place: following impact from a workplace vehicle, A-SAFE barriers flex, absorb and reform. This factor alone affords companies huge cost
savings on replacement barriers and reduced damage to the impacting vehicles over a long-term period but when combined with the barriers’ other advantages – low maintenance, greatly reduced floor damage, unbeatable protection for personnel, structures and equipment – the return in investment is substantial and sustained.
