PREVIEW SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO 2015 FAST LOCKOUT/TAGOUT IMPLEMENTATION

Brady presents a complete Lockout/ Tagout solution. A life-saver in maintenance operations, Lockout/Tagout supports industries to prevent maintenance related accidents and requires time and preparation to implement. Based on worldwide best practices, Brady now offers a complete solution for a fast and secure implementation.

MACHINE SPECIFIC PROCEDURES Lockout/Tagout involves the isolation and inoperability of the energy supply to industrial machinery during maintenance. Writing machine-specific procedures

that ensure the isolation of the complete energy supply to a specific machine is one of the biggest challenges to implement the successful Lockout/ Tagout safety procedure. Machine- specific procedures need to be complete and understandable and will require internal discussion, approval and communication to employees involved. Brady can send engineers to your

workplace to help write machine-specific procedure proposals based on worldwide best practices for your evaluation. In order to write complete machine specific lockout procedures, Brady engineers will identify the energy supply points that power your machinery so they can be isolated during maintenance using professional Lockout/ Tagout tools.

PROCEDURE APPROVAL Once machine-specific procedures that ensure machine energy isolation have been written they need approval by several internal stakeholders. To facilitate this process Brady proposes the LINK360 software to easily introduce, approve or

These pictures will support your maintenance professionals to quickly find energy points that need to be locked out. In addition, Brady provides training

modules for maintenance professionals and all stakeholders involved. While maintenance professionals may need hands-on training, other employees must be made aware of the safety procedures and the importance of operational Lockout/Tagout devices to ensure no one attempts a forced removal of locks out of procedure.

OPTIMISED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TOOLS Based on approved machine-specific procedures Brady can suggest which Lockout/Tagout hardware is needed to successfully increase maintenance safety. Padlocks and key-systems are available for most industrial contexts and lockout devices can be selected based on the energy supply points identified in your facilities. Machine-specific procedures provide great insight in what is needed and allow for the efficient purchase and use of Lockout/Tagout hardware.

edit, scale and communicate Lockout/ Tagout machine-specific and other safety procedures. With the award-winning LINK360 software a safety procedure roll- out in multiple sites across country borders has never been easier.

COMMUNICATION Using a tablet or smartphone on site, energy point and machine pictures can easily be uploaded in LINK360 for use in Lockout/Tagout procedure communication.

SUCCESSFUL SAFETY INVESTMENT Lockout/Tagout has proven very successful and prevented injuries connected with maintenance including fractures, lacerations, amputations, burns and shocks in industry all over the world. In addition, visual tagging safety

identification solutions and on-site safety sign and CLP-label printers will be on display at the exhibition.

FIRST AID, SPILL AND FIRE RESPONDER STATIONS

Bull Products will launch a PIR option to its successful range of Cygnus wireless fire and first aid alarm systems. This innovation extends the functionality of the system so that whenever an intruder is detected by the PIR sensors an alert is sent to personnel off-site thus increasing the safety protection offered by Cygnus. Further new products include its range of First Responder Stations developed to improve health and safety provision at construction sites, factories and warehouses comprising Fire Point, Spill Control and First Aid Centres, all of which are trolley-based mobile units. These stations contain everything needed in a compact and attractive package instantly improving the user’s health and safety image on site. Also on display will be the newly launched protective cages for the Cygnus alarm units which have been

developed to prevent vandalism, accidental damage, misuse and even theft and designed for the harsh environment of construction sites. The CE marked Cygnus wireless fire and first aid alarm system has raised the bar in the industry for performance and reliability and has impressive capability linking together 480 units in 15 zones around construction sites, each having a capacity for 32 units. There is a choice of units with the system, all battery operated and include fire alarm call points, smoke detectors, heat detectors, first aid call points and interface units for integration to other fire systems and turnstile gate entry systems. Operating on a Category 1 radio frequency, open air tests prove Cygnus system range can exceed 1.5km.
