HANDLING EQUIPMENT ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE ARTICULATED JIB CRANE: THE MOBILE, MODULAR AND FLEXIBLE HAND

UK materials handling manufacturer and supplier of ergonomic and heavy duty lifting solutions, Advanced Handling, announces the latest enhancements to its PRONOMIC MobiCrane and MobiArm. Highly configurable, the PRONOMIC

MobiCrane and MobiArm deliver a flexible jib crane solution offering mechanical, magnetic and pneumatic/vacuum tooling to reduce manual handling of drums, reels, sacks, flat boards, boxes and machine tooling discs and plates. The PRONOMIC MobiCrane provides an adaptable solution for production, packing and dispatch areas; creating an improved ergonomic working environment in operations experiencing, for example, growing demands for smarter productivity and improved health and safety. A mobile jib crane, the MobiCrane is

available as a floor or wall-mounted solution. The floor-mounted base plate is available with pallet truck fork entry to allow the complete crane unit to be repositioned for maintenance or during reconfiguration of production areas. With enhanced design specification, the base plate creates provision for unlevel floors with recessed bolt fixings in each corner. The PRONOMIC range of lifting

equipment is synonymous with modular features and functionality.

“Our jib cranes are a further extension of ergonomic lifting solutions seen and experienced across the PRONOMIC range,” explains product manager Rebecca Dilloway-Jones. The mobility and modular nature of the

MobiCrane is emphasised with a selection of fixed height masts and option to install a height adjustable mast. The MobiArm increases the flexibility of this handling solution as the articulated jib arm offers improved movement and operational range. The power options for the

MobiCrane support repositioning of the unit with single phase plug and play or power via a rechargeable battery. The flexibility of tooling and hoists support a number of applications and with a quick release feature this makes it easy for the operator to change between different tools. “This solution [MobiCrane] is controlled by a simple joystick which creates a gentle and accurate drive for precision lifting and lowering,” explains technical director David Goss. “These hand control operational features along with the flexible configuration allow the customer to design this solution to meet their needs; install it and adjust it on-site - which makes this solution very customer friendly.” As with all Advanced Handling lifting

equipment each solution is CE marked and in addition to standard safety features the MobiCrane includes a Vacuum Monitoring System (VMS) to ensure lifting can only take place when the vacuum level is sufficient and an Accidental Vacuum Shut- Off Guard (AVSG). Advanced Handling will be demonstrating lifting equipment from Stand Q1900 at the Safety & Health Expo at Excel, London 16-18 June 2015.
