Children’s Grand Park
Since last summer, a package of 10 new rides has been entertaining families at Children’s Grand Park in South Korea’s capital of Seoul
S
ourced from a variety of European, US and domestic manufacturers, the rides were installed by local distributor Pacific Amusement over an
eight-month period beginning August 2013, ready for the 2014 summer season. Leading the pack are a Suspended Family Coaster from Vekoma Rides Manufacturing and a double drop flume ride built locally. Also featured are a tree-themed Wave Swinger and Kontiki rocking raft from Zierer, Swinging Bears and bumper cars by Soli/IE Park, an SBF Super Jumper
and Drop ‘n’ Twist Tower, S&S Frog Hopper, and a domestic-built Viking Ship. Situated in the city’s Gwangjin-gu district, Children’s
Grand Park covers 530,000 square meters and is a popular leisure destination for families. Opened by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to celebrate the Children’s Day holiday in 1973, the park features a wide range of attractions and activities in addition to amusement rides. Visitors can enjoy the botanical garden, zoo, marine animal house and even a Parrot Village, in addition to various live shows and performances.
