HP StoreOnce raises the bar for enterprise backup

news for any enterprise customer that has invested in HP 3PAR StoreServ storage and is using VMware-based virtualisation.


Te HP StoreOnce Recovery Manager Central (RMC) software integrates the two systems to speed and simplify data protection for virtualised 3PAR arrays. By getting these two systems to talk to each other directly, HP has bypassed the need to follow ‘traditional’ server-based backup processes. Tis makes the whole process much faster, making use of ‘snapshot’ feature on 3PAR arrays.


StoreOnce is a disk-based system with advanced de- duplication, so it is really fast already and with RMC the


backup window is almost eliminated. Tat’s a very attractive proposition for the thousands of 3PAR customers out there, says Jonathan Kaiser, General Manager Products and Services for the Azlan HP Enterprise Group.


‘HP has really set the bar for enterprise backup to a new high with StoreOnce Recovery Manager Central. It’s a genuine backup solution that has significant advantages over the competition. zlan invited a select group of HP partners to the Savoy last month, showcasing the vendor’s latest solutions and services and explaining how these new


technologies will drive profitable business growth over the course of 2015.


At the Building a Better HP Business for 2015 event, senior personnel from both Azlan and HP gave their perspective on the opportunities that current IT market trends and technological developments offer partners. Tey also presented an overview of HP’s converged solutions portfolio and signposted the key areas of growth potential.


Clive Freeman, HP UK and Ireland Chief Technology Officer delivered a keynote on the New Style of IT and explained the company’s fresh approach towards IT propositions and how this will help partners to

increase engagement with prospective customers and drive demand.


Andy Dow, Head of the HP Enterprise Group at Azlan, said: ‘We wanted to give resellers an insight into HP’s plan for the coming year and enable them to shape their own strategy and approach accordingly.
