WALTER SCOTT ASKS...

ANNAFARIS

TheMom star, 38, makes her awards show co-hosting debut with thePeople’s Choice AwardsWednesday night on CBS, and shares upcoming plans to work with hubby Chris Prat.

Do you and co-host Allison Janney have any surprises in store for the People’s Choice Awards? “We do. We play mother and daughter on Mom, so we’re really excited to show the audience

how close we are as friends. We have great chemistry together.”

Mom is in its second season. Why do you think people have taken such a liking to your character, a recovering alcoholic? “I feel like we just touch people in a different way than any of the projects I’ve been a part of in the past. It’s incredibly challenging to address sobriety issues in a comedy without making light of them. We try to honor the struggle these characters have.”

It’s a new year, so let’s talk diet and exercise. When Chris gets in shape for a movie like Guardians of the Galaxy, are you right there with him? “[Laughs] Not really, no. That’s a journey he has to go on by himself.”
