Bortone Repeats as Senior Open Champ

corners of the USA and Canada made for a capacity attendance event at the Dallas Gun Club in Lewisville, Texas Sept. 12- 13 for the 2014 International Shooting Sports of Oregon’s (ISSO) Senior Open for International Trap. Originated in 2007, the “Senior Open” is an annual USA Shooting sanctioned event designed for Senior Category shooters. Local shooter Gino Bortone


(pictured center) put his home- range advantage to good use. The 2012 Senior Open Champion turned in a solid performance despite the tough Day 1 conditions, with a 66/75. He never looked back on day 2, leading the fi eld posting 47/50, locking him in the lead position for the Championship’s semi- fi nal round. Giving chase was the 2007-09 Senior Open Champion, Guy Avedisian of Ocala, Florida, Col. John Linn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Primo Scapin of Canada, Chuck Dietl of Torrance, California and Johnny Weger of Saint Jo, Texas rounding out the top six.

candidates to serve on the USA Shooting Board of Directors for three separate At-Large Director positions. Directors must be 18 years of age and are elected for a four-year term. The Board typically meets two times each year. A special meeting of the Board will be convened in late January or early February to conduct the election. The three elected directors will be seated at the April 18 meeting of the board. An election of offi cers will be conducted at this meeting. Offi cer terms are two years. The three positions for election are as follows: 1. At-Large director #1: Currently occupied by Dr. James Lally who is currently serving as USAS President. Dr. Lally is eligible to serve a second term and has stated he is a candidate for re- election.


2. At-Large director #2: Currently occupied by Mr. E.C. (Cris) Stone who is currently serving as Treasurer. Stone is eligible to serve a second term and has stated he is a candidate for re- election.


3. At-Large director #3: Currently occupied by Mr. Kinsey Robinson who is serving as Secretary: Robinson is not eligible for re-election due to bylaw term limits. Candidates desiring to be considered are


requested to provide a 10-line biography in 12 point font stating qualifi cations and platform. The Nominating Committee will vet candidates and make recommendations to the Board. Emphasis will be given to selecting candidates who will measurably add to the breadth and scope of the Board and whose skills, abilities and potential value are not adequately represented including community-based organizations with active youth shooting programs.
