Men’s Skeet Team wrapped an exciting week of compe- tition for the USA Shooting Team at the inaugural Inter- national Shooting Sport Fed- eration (ISSF) Junior Cup, bolstered by the strength of its shotgun squad. Open to all Junior com-


petitors age 20 or younger during the competition year, the fi rst all-discipline event (rifl e, pistol and shotgun) contested in Suhl, Germany, featured 25 American ath- letes and four coaches. The double-barreled


target busters for the USA Shooting Team earned sev- en medals overall including three gold, two silver and two bronze as well as 11 top- seven performances. Italy once again showed its prow- ess in the discipline earning a match-high 12 medals while Russia earned seven medals as well. Phillip

(Caldwell, Texas) led the way for the Men’s Skeet team fi n- ishing just outside podium position with a fourth-place fi nish.

gold medalists Ian Rupert (Double Trap / Muncy, Penn- sylvania) and Sydney Car- son (Skeet / North Liberty, Indiana) as well as bronze medalist Amber Culwell (Trap / Rose Bud, Arkansas). Other team medals included Women’s Skeet (gold), Dou- ble Trap (silver) and Wom- en’s Trap (bronze). Meanwhile, in the pis-


tol and rifl e events, the Women’s Air Pistol Team of Lydia Paterson (Kansas City, Kansas), Darian Shenk (Annville, Pennsylvania) and Irina Andrianova (Schaum- burg, Illinois) won a Team silver medal for the only American medal result in those two disciplines. Tim Sherry (Highlands Ranch, Colorado) added to the U.S. success in Suhl with a sixth- place fi nish in the Men’s Three-Position Rifl e event. Mindy Miles (Weatherford, Texas) also shot her way into the event fi nals picking up a sixth-place result as well in Women’s 10m Air Rifl e. Alex Chichkov (Temple Ter- race, Florida) shot well in the Standard Pistol event, fi nish- ing fourth.
