& BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES EDITED BY TONY RAO
FRANCHISE
Popular parenting magazine Family Go Live has this month announced that it is launching franchising opportunities across the UK.
FRANCHISE GO LIVE
The magazine, which started seven years ago in Liverpool, functions as a directory for local parents, with each issue carrying an overview of local family-interest events and classes, as well as a mix of advice articles and relevant reviews.
Circulated free-of-charge in local schools, hospitals and leisure venues, it is funded by advertisers who choose the magazine on the basis of its unique ability to reach local parents on a direct level. The magazine is seeking partners to set up franchises across the UK, and will provide full business and content support for successful applicants.
Discussing her plans to franchise the magazine, Denise Harris, Managing Director of Family Go Live magazine, said: “Being a parent means a constant search for things to do to keep the kids entertained, but when I moved back to Liverpool, it was really hard
to find out what was going on in the area. I set up the magazine because I felt as a parent, there would be a real demand for this type of publication. I wasn’t wrong; parents love it, and it makes a tidy profit because advertisers love how well it reaches their target audience. They get great exposure to their target audience by being in the magazine.
“It’s a winning formula, and we’re confident it will work just as well elsewhere in the UK. Now the challenge is just finding the right sales-driven, entrepreneurial people to take the magazine forward in their own territories. We’re very protective of the brand, so we’re only interested in working with the best, and so far the interest we’ve had has been fantastic.”
