FACILITIES DCIM

QMore specifically, what are the technologies and products you offer the data centre market?

A We have now developed a range of products that include power and energy monitoring with integral dashboards, intelligent lighting

controls, HVAC, OEM products and BMS data export for energy analytics to improve complete data centre energy usage. For example we have our SIPp for power monitoring all the way down to rack level giving KWh,V, A, pf, PUE. We also have our SIPpVision which oversees the SIPp network and allows the manager to group their internal or external customers to their complete power usage even if their equipment is based over a few rooms.

We are able to interface with all CRAC manufacturers to give the data centre manager the accurate information he needs on his input/ output temperatures to make sure everything is running at its optimal level. We have SIPe BMS logger that will monitor and give a graphical output of pulse meters so being able to monitor water pumps problems before they arise. Also we can add intelligent lighting to the building as well.

QIn what is quite a crowded marketplace, how does Synapsys stand out?

A I would say how Synapsys stands out in a crowded marketplace is very simple as we are in a position where we can offer a unique

service to our customers helping them extract all the data they need from different areas of their data centres. Having many simple but effective solutions is key to having a cost effective monitoring solution with no ongoing licence fees.

Some of the many areas that are important to a data centre or facilities manager would be the rack power, UPS batteries, chillers, rack and aisle temperatures, water pumps and also fire alarm systems.

QThe company offers various interfaces, how do these fit in to the data centre environment?

A These different interfaces serve to look after all areas of the data centre, from the rack to the room. Monitoring rack power

consumption, chiller units effectiveness, UPS back up power, fire Summer 2014 I www.dcseurope.info 47
