INGERSOLL RAND HAS opened a facility for manufacturing, light assembly and distribution of Trane and Thermo King climate control systems in Ov áry-Kolín, Czech Republic.

The facility manufactures Thermo King air

conditioning units for bus and rail transportation vehicles for customers around the globe.

Trane water terminals and small to medium-sized chillers for commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are also manufactured in this location.

Built on 90,000sqm of land in Ov áry-Kolín, the site consists of 25,000sqm

production and warehouse areas and more than 3,400sqm of office space, which includes a canteen and medical room. An additional 5,000sqm is available for future expansion. Energy savings will be achieved through improved insulation, advanced building façades and various climate control measures including double-glazed windows, automatically controlled shading systems and airtight docking and levelling systems. The new site will replace operations of the downtown- Kolín manufacturing facility, which has been in operation since 1992, and will continue production of Thermo King and Trane products.

Fujitsu announces the closure of Wave

IN A STRONG indication of its confidence in its remaining distributors, Fujitsu General has decided to close Wave Air Conditioning, the previously wholly owned distributor that was bought by them in 2009. Ian Carroll, sales and marketing director of FG Eurofred said: “This decision clearly underlines the importance of our close relationship with our distribution partners. “It also removes the confusion to our customers about route to market and we fully understand why they were sceptical about having a distributor fully owned by the manufacturer.

“We will retain a direct sales operation to grow our market share in the VRF and end-

user market, but its primary function will be to increase the awareness of Fujitsu Air Conditioning products in the UK which, of course, will benefit all our distributors. “Wave’s customers will be encouraged to move their business to other Fujitsu distributors.

“We are dedicated to arranging this transition as smoothly as possible so as not to interrupt the daily business of Fujitsu customers and letters have been sent to each of them informing them of the shutdown process. “FG Eurofred would like to thank the staff of Wave for their years of service selling Fujitsu equipment and we wish them and their families well in the future.”
