The mini pump for installation versatility
MCQUAY SERVICE IS offering customers one year’s free maintenance on all scroll and screw chillers as part of its new customer care package.
Mechanical, refrigerant, electrical, unit and wear inspections are all part of the comprehensive package. McQuay Service makes three visits a year and all maintenance is carried out by a network of factory trained service engineers. On completion of each maintenance visit, a full log sheet will be produced detailing the work, along with any recommendations for each unit.
Barry Coe, national service manager for McQuay Service, said: “Regular maintenance is vital for today’s high efficiency chillers – major components, such as compressors, electrical and controls components, condensers, evaporators and also the chillers operating characteristics all need to be inspected on a regular basis. Identifying problems early avoids equipment damage and can reduce downtime by up to 40%. Research has shown that regular maintenance can reduce unexpected breakdowns by up to
75% and energy consumption by up to 30%. Chillers can consume a substantial amount of energy, so these reductions in energy can be significant.
“Compared to a major chiller failure, a sound predictive and preventative maintenance package will save money over the life of the chiller and ensure longer chiller life. We recognise that, for optimum, trouble free operation, it is not only necessary for these machines to be expertly commissioned, but also to be maintained on a regular basis. “The benefits of our customer care package are manifold – it minimises the chances of business loss and user complaints due to breakdown, whilst maximising the efficiency of the chillers’ operation – resulting in lower energy costs. “Our visits are designed to reduce energy consumption, minimise and avoid leaks, reduce refrigerant leakage and guarantee reliable and quiet running of your machines.
“Being more energy efficient means using less energy, which reduces operating costs.”
WITH OVER 20 years experience in the condensate removal market Aspen Pumps designs its products to work in the easiest, smartest way, ensuring that no time is wasted when installing and maintaining its pumps.
The company’s mini tank pump aims to provide installation versatility. Historically, the market lacked a product that solved the issue of pump placement on ducted units where space was lacking. The mini tank pump was designed to specifically combat that issue.
Combining the best of British design and manufacturing, the pump can be fitted on threaded rod, screwed to the unit, submersed in the tray or mounted above placed by the unit, ensuring that your time is saved.
The Mini tank pump joins the firm’s newly designed tank pump family, and as with the rest of the tank pump range users can be assured of “unsurpassed quality and performance as standard”. The pump allows ease of install, ease of service and maintenance and ultimately saving time.
A new range of chillers from ICS Cool Energy marks 25 years
ICS COOL ENERGY is celebrating 25 years as one of Europe’s leading specialists in heating and cooling temperature control sales, rental and servicing. ICS Cool Energy’s Company Director, Adam Spolnik, comments: “We are proud to ring in our milestone 25th year with the announcement that we are bringing our new i-chiller range to both UK and European markets.
“Over the last quarter of a century we’ve supported industries across the globe, providing temperature control solutions and specialist advice on process heating and commercial cooling projects. “The need for businesses to improve efficiencies across the board has never been more prevalent, with seemingly ever-increasing energy prices and tighter regulatory directives being introduced. “The i-chiller represents an evolution of our long-serving cooling range by

placing efficiency at its core, using the very highest grade components in each and every one of the range’s 17 strong chiller models as standard, to ensure that ‘out of the box’ levels of reliability and productivity can be sustainably and consistently achieved.”
With cooling capacities starting at 0.9kW and ranging right up to 122.4kW, the i-chiller promises a more variable approach to economic process cooling for a wider array of applications – without ever having to compromise on reliability or outright power.
Providing greater flexibility than its predecessor, the range features two new versions, offering high efficiency (HE) and dual frequency variations to suit all requirements.
The new range also includes a high pressure axial fan and an oversized hydraulic tank as standard, enabling the
chiller to compensate for any imbalances caused by changes in load demand while in operation.
In support of the European Union’s legislation regarding the phase out of environmentally unfriendly R22 gas, the i-chiller range predominantly utilises more sustainable R410A refrigerant, with R470C and R134a gases used within the smaller capacity models.
