General Credit Please note that, although many sources were used, this book is largely based on JSH Gildenhuys’ Public Financial Management, published by JL van Schaik, 1993 and therefore serves as a workbook of the relevant sections. The author has adapted the information to suit the academic level of students, the examination requirements and the objectives as set out in the syllabus for N5 and N6 Public Finance. Module Three N6 – Compilation of a Government Budget is, however, taken from the latest information provided by the department of State Finance and Mr Nico Marais at Parliament, Cape Town, in that Gildenhuys no longer applies.
