Dell digs Eaton- Williams
Family firm wins prison contract
ACE REFRIGERATION has been awarded a three year service and maintenance contract with the Scottish Prison Service.
The family firm, which was established in Glasgow in 1951, will provide both preventative and reactive service and maintenance for both air conditioning and refrigeration. The new contract covers 13 prisons and three other sites throughout the country and will run for three years with an option to extend the contract for a further two years. Foster McKenzie, service and maintenance director of ACE Refrigeration, said: “Our service and maintenance department has dedicated teams of engineers who work together to achieve a service, which is fast, effective and reliable.
THE DEVELOPMENT of energy saving free cooling technologies by Eaton- Williams was recognised by Dell with the presentation of a Data Centre Consulting Services Partner Award at the Dell Data Centre Technical Summit held in Kuala Lumpur.
The award was received following a two-year relationship with Dell working alongside the company’s Data Centre Consulting Services team, to promote free cooling technology in China. Eaton-Williams and Dell have successfully implemented free cooling solutions as part of a pilot in offering free cooling solutions for data centres to maximise energy savings. Mark Luxford, general manager of Eaton-Williams’ brand of ServerCool presented a selection of free cooling case studies showcasing the benefits of reduced energy, built in redundancy, lower emissions and reduced power usage effectiveness. The summit enabled the Dell Data Centre Team and Eaton-Williams to exchange ideas and promote the latest advances in cooling solutions in modern data centres.

“Our reputation has been built upon our attention to detail and rapid reaction times. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Scottish Prison Service who will join our clients in the food processing industry, hospitality business and health life science and pharmaceutical sectors.” ACE Refrigeration’s teams of engineers have previously carried out major design and installation projects for cold rooms and freezer rooms, ice generators, chilled production facilities and blast chillers and freezers for food processors, dairy companies, the fish and seafood industry, the meat business and fruit and vegetable sectors throughout the country. Clients in the food processing industry also include Albert Bartletts, AP Jess, Associated Seafoods,
Braehead SFO, Drysdales, Glenrath Eggs and Marine Harvest.
ACE Refrigeration is manufacturer independent and able to offer customers solutions which best meet their needs; and with energy costs on the rise, this is the ideal time to take action.
As well as complying with the legal requirements of ever- changing legislation, replacing tired and inefficient equipment can have a major benefit on operating costs with some customers saving up to 25% off their energy bills.
While ACE predominantly works across the UK and Ireland, they have also completed projects in Chad, Gabon, the Falkland Islands, and France and have been working in Kazakhstan for almost 20 years.
TRS names FSW as new supplier
TECHNICAL Retail Services (TRS) has appointed FSW UK Group as its primary refrigeration equipment and components supplier for its Service and Projects Divisions. The new agreement was effective from 1 April and follows on from the decision by Marks & Spencer to award TRS a contract to provide refrigeration service and maintenance to 270 stores across the UK.
The TRS Service Division will be supported by Just One Call (JOC), the FSW UK Group business, based in Bristol. The TRS Projects Division support will be provided by the FSW branch network.
Trading since 1998, TRS has grown steadily, gaining a strong reputation for Service and Projects delivery for a number of major food retailers.
Recent contract wins for M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Co-op reinforce this position.
Headquartered in Glasgow, the company has taken the strategic decision to open a new office in Bradford in May
2014 and is in discussion about a possible Birmingham facility before the end of the year. “At TRS, we recognised that our supply chain had to change to keep pace with our growth strategy and our ability to deliver a national Service and Projects package. It made sense for TRS to consolidate its purchasing requirements into a primary supplier arrangement,” commented Robert Yule, TRS service director.
“FSW UK Group worked very hard to win our business. Following a detailed evaluation
period we concluded that FSW is the right long-term partner and we are looking forward to working closely with them,” he continued.
Mark Henderson, FSW UK group commercial director added: “FSW are delighted that TRS has chosen them as their partner of choice and this is a further significant step in our development plan. Our network of 23 branches, together with JOC’s proven ability to supply 100% of parts required, is a unique combination that sets us apart from our competitors.”
