Hello and welcome to edition 22 of the VOICE magazine – the voice of Volvo Construction Equipment in GB. Lots of things have changed since our last publication.

After twentyfive years of service with the Volvo GB dealership in various roles ranging from Engineer to Managing Director, Val Ledden has taken up a new role within Volvo Construction Equipment. Val has been appointed Vice President for Sales Support and the VOICE magazine would like to wish him well in this new challenge and thank him for his past endeavours. There have been additional changes made to our sales and depot management teams where we have been able to recruit a mix of some of our up-coming talent from within the organisation, as well welcoming new individuals to the company. For more details please see the centre pages of the magazine.
The economy continues to show encouraging signs and the construction sector is becoming more and more upbeat. This is great news for us all after several difficult years and we, here at Volvo Construction Equipment, are seeing plenty of activity. We look forward to supporting you, our customers, in the coming months and years, making the most of the opportunities that arise.
Scot Plant in April and Hillhead taking place in June will give us the opportunity to showcase our new Stage IV models along with support from our sister companies Volvo Trucks and Volvo Penta. Hillhead will also be the venue for the 2014 Operators Club heats in Great Britain. The Operators Club was launched at Plantworx in May 2013 and has proved to be a great success with close to 700 members already signed up. The winners of the 2014 heats will go forward to represent GB at the European Operators Club Final taking place in Alicante, Spain coinciding with the start of the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race – see pages 60–61 for more details.
