Surfside Beach was incorporated in March, 1964, and as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we owe a debt of gratitude to those who came before us and have a duty to those who will follow. Surfside Beach is our home, and, we believe, a very special community. It is our great honor to be known as “the family beach.”


All of us work hard to keep our community clean, fam- ily friendly and above all, safe. We are keenly aware of our role in maintaining our beaches for the enjoyment of all and hope that your experience in our town and on the beach is a joyous, memorable one. We encourage visitors to take time to visit our fishing pier, stroll on the shore and enjoy a delicious meal while staying in one of our hotels, rental homes or condominiums.


The Town of Surfside Beach is a safe and fun place to bring your children and grandchildren. Make those


special memories while enjoying the water park, our children’s parks, the ball fields, skate park, our viewing decks overlooking our in-town lakes, and for a change of pace, our public library with adjoining Veteran’s Me- morial and gazebo under the trees. Our community is pet-friendly, too. We have a clean, safe, dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs.
