March BBQ FESTIVAL
Held the first Saturday in March, this fun event is held on Surfside Drive near Ocean Boulevard. Live bluegrass and country music liven up the street as the spring season approaches. Delicious BBQ is prepared and sold by our local volunteer fire fighters.
May MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
The last Monday in May marks the Memorial Day Service each year at the town’s Veterans Memorial on the corner of Surfside Drive and Willow Drive North. This service commemo- rates our nation’s fallen servicemen.

July JULY 4TH CELEBRATION
The town honors our nation’s day of indepen- dence in celebratory style with live entertain- ment, concessions, water slides and giveaways. The evening is topped off with an extravagant fireworks display from the Surfside Beach Pier.
KIDS FAIR
Fuller Park, located on Surfside Drive and Myr- tle Drive North, hosts a fun-filled afternoon for children 10 and under on the second Monday of July each year. Games and inflatable rides are included in the activities. Local business- es and organizations participate by providing
games and/or giveaways. September
SOUTH CAROLINA SEA CONSORTIUM GRANT BEACH SWEEP
This yearly River/Beach Sweep is South Caroli- na’s largest one-day volunteer cleanup event of its kind. Held the third Saturday each Septem- ber on the beach at Surfside Pier, volunteers are provided gloves, bags and tally sheets.
SKYHOUNDZ DISC CANINE CONTEST
Sponsored by Skyhoundz/Hyperflite from At- lanta, Georgia, this local contest grades ca- nines for distance and accuracy. Held on Martin Field at Dogwood Drive South and 6th Avenue South the last Saturday in September,
contestants may enter at no charge. 18
October SURFSIDE BEACH FAMILY FESTIVAL
Surfside Beach Family Festival - Join us on the first Saturday in October for the town’s an- nual Family Festival featuring local bands, in- flatable rides, theatre demonstrations, local talent, a petting zoo and more than 130 arts/
crafts, food and information vendors.
November VETERANS DAY SERVICE
On November 11, our town honors all veterans with a service at the Veterans Memorial, locat- ed on the corner of Surfside Drive and Willow Drive North.
December CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
Enjoy music from our local elementary schools and refreshments as you wait for the town’s Christmas Tree to light up on the Thursday af- ter Thanksgiving each year. This event is held on the lawn of Town Hall at 115 Highway 17 North.
CHRISTMAS PARADE
The second Saturday in December is the day to watch the annual Christmas Parade with more than 80 entries including bands, radio stations and, of course, Santa Claus. The parade route travels Ocean Boulevard South from Melody Lane to Surfside Drive and proceeds west on
Surfside Drive to Poplar Drive.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA Children 10 and younger may enjoy breakfast with Santa Claus at Golden Egg Pancake House on the third Saturday in December each year. Each child receives a visit with Santa, treat bag and free breakfast. Reservations required.
