Pricer graphic ESLs throughout its six stores with local partner, Ishida Tecno, to reduce waste and increase profitability. “We wanted to thoroughly eliminate losses and anything related to them in order to increase our profits and decided that we would never place our stock orders only according to existing stock levels. We also decided to use PoS [point-of-sale] data. If we didn’t include PoS data and only based our orders on existing stock, we could never achieve zero stock,” he said. By increasing the level of information


at shelf level, staff at Shufu No Mise can ensure that stock levels are always set to an optimum rate. “With the ESLs, before we place an order for stock, we check the label’s


display to see how many items were sold the previous week,” said a Shufu No Mise store employee. “If the number of items sold is three or more, we place a full order, and if it’s less, we don’t order until the stock runs out. By doing this, we can mark off a clear boundary between ‘three or more and ‘less than three’ – optimising our stock levels.” The ESLs also support pricing


accuracy. Using secure, high-speed infrared technology, they allow staff to update prices with a few clicks. And Shufu No Mise can be confident that its product pricing on the shelf always matches its database. “Since we introduced the ESLs, there


are no more pricing errors,” added Mr Nakamura, store manager at Shufu No Mise. “As a result, our profits have increased, as everything is marked accurately, and we have also had far fewer problems with customers – which really is the important thing.”

Linen House is utilising an Intershop managed virtualised infrastructure that is being run by Intershop via a 24-hours a day, 365-days a year managed services-based agreement.

features a number of Intershop enabled customisations and extensions, such as a simplified user registration, enablement of multiple payment gateways, the use of Australia Post’s eParcel shipping and address validation, AccPac enterprise retail planning (ERP), MailChimp email marketing, Solr Search and Google Analytics. A responsive web design that provides an optimal viewing experience across a wide range of devices – from mobile phones to desktop computer – was also included in this first launch. All products, catalogues, orders,


customers, content, store promotions and email marketing campaigns are managed by non-technical Linen House staff through the web-based Intershop back office system. Scott Duncan, e-commerce manager
