TURTLE BEACH Ear Force PX4
It’s no accident that the name of the new Turtle Beach Ear Force PX4 headset is just one letter away from the new Sony PS4 console. It’s designed to complement Sony’s powerful new console in terms of looks thanks to that familiar blue- and-black styling. The PX4 boasts Bluetooth
connectivity for use with compatible phones, a built- in microphone that connects to the new DualShock 4 controller and EQ presets that allow you to boost bass and treble. The PX4 headset is compact, lightweight and comfortable to use. It also incorporates a detachable microphone, which is good,
as the PX4 doubles up as great portable headphones. You can connect it to any Bluetooth-enabled device for wireless use, or via the included headphone adapter for a wired connection. The PX4 isn’t cheap, but
it’s competitively priced for a headset that provides excellent audio from games consoles at home and other devices on the move. It sounds great, is
comfortable to wear, and has plenty of customisation options. There are more expensive headsets that offer more luxurious leather finishes and more audio tuning options, but the PX4 hits the sweet spot in terms of performance and price.

Lumix GM1 PANASONIC
Mirrorless compact system cameras – of which Panasonic launched the very first back in September 2008 –were always supposed to be about good things coming in small packages. Translation: near pro-quality pictures without the backache from carrying weighty kit. Despite this it’s fair to say that many attempts at mastering the formula has only produced products fractionally smaller than digital SLRs. While at first glance the
price tag may be on the high side, imagine the premium point-and-shoot body of the Panasonic
Lumix LX7 with the innards and lens swapping ability of the Lumix GX7 compact system camera – which we rated at the time as the brand’s best ever G series model – and you’ve basically nailed the appeal of the impressive 16- megapixel Lumix GM1. Portable yet powerful is
the pitch and indeed in that best-of-both-worlds respect the GM1 for us comes close to being Panasonic’s most perfectly realised and truly compact mirrorless compact system camera to date. Now if only we could get our mitts on the gorgeous tan version...
