JOINING THE leagues of multi-purpose devices is Dell’s latest Ultrabook, the XPS 11, which has a 360- degree rotating display. The XPS 11 can transform


from a laptop to a tablet by flipping the keyboard around to sit flat against its back, or it can be set up into a tent or tablet stand.


The 15mm 1.13kg chassis of the XPS 11 is constructed from carbon fibre and aluminium, while the 11.6- inch UltraSharp Quad-HD LED touchscreen is made of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. The screen has a brightness of 400 nits, meaning it’s suitable for outdoor use, and it can also


be viewed up to an angle of 160 degrees. Powering the two-in-one


device is a fourth-gen Intel Core i5 processor, Windows 8.1 and 4GB of memory. Graphics are displayed using Intel HD Graphics 4000, and Windows 8.1 has been enabled for scaling, meaning images can be

scaled up to 200 per cent on the 1440p screen without losing resolution. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC provide connectivity options, and the battery is estimated to last up to almost nine hours. The XPS 11 can be


controlled using the solid touch keyboard and


touchpad, via the touchscreen, or by using the included Dragon Assistant voice recognition software. The XPS 11 is available


now with either 128GB or 256GB of solid state drive storage capacity. The RRP for the 128GB model is £929, while the 256GB model costs £999.
