John Laing announces sale of JLIS

John Laing, the specialist investor in and manager of infra- structure assets, has announced the sale of John Laing Inte- grated Services (JLIS), the company’s support services and facilitiesmanagement business, to Carillion plc. Completion of the sale was unconditional and took place on 18 October 2013. The disposal underlines John Laing’s continued strategic

focus on its core business of bidding for, investing in andman- aging infrastructure projects. As a result, the future prospects for growth of JLIS activities falls outside the core John Laing business model. All staff currently employed in JLIS have transferred to Caril-

lion. Following the sale, John Laing now employs a total of 222 staff in its focused investment management divisions.

Panztel acquired by CareMonitoring&Management Ltd

Remote workforcemanagement specialist, Panztel, has been acquired by CareMonitoring &Management Ltd. The group al- ready owns CM2000, which specialises in monitoring and scheduling technologies for the care sector. Peter Longman, CEO of CM&M, said: “The group is delighted

to have an opportunity to expand into this rapidly growing mar- ket. Panztel has already made a significant impact in the FM market with its deployment of eziTracker.” The eziTracker service has been adopted by a number of the biggest operators in this sector in response to the need for greater contract transparency, whilst gaining full control of large, remote workforces. Panztel will continue to operate independently as part of the

group. JohnMoore, managing director of Panztel, said: “After 15 years it is excellent news for Panztel to have the opportunity to continue our growth as part of a bigger group.We look forward to working with FMproviders to deliver e-monitoring solutions.”

Industry partnership prolongs lifetime of luxury floorings

UK flooring manufacturer Amtico has appointed Beaver Floorcare as approved after- care specialist for both its commercial and residential installations. The aimof the new collaboration is to max- imise the longevity of Amtico’s product range. The announcement comes

following an 18 month close working relationship between the two companies. Having cleaned and maintained Amtico floors for over 20 years, Beaver sought to de- velop knowledge-transfer links with the manufacturer’s technical services team. It soon became clear that, by combining best practice ex- pertise in both flooring pro- duction and aftercare, a number of benefits could be realised by the two parties and most importantly the customer. The objective of the new

collaboration is to encourage clients to adopt a pro- gramme of aftercare for their Amtico flooring, so that it re- tains the desired appearance throughout its life. Beaver is now on hand to provide homeowners, businesses, fa- cilitiesmanagement compa-
