Chief Operating Officer Bring your visionary leadership to the TTC in Toronto, Canada.

This key role is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished senior executive and change leader to deliver a portfolio of programs and improvements to infrastructure and vehicle maintenance. Guided by a new and ambitious Corporate Plan, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has embarked on a 5-year journey to transform and modernize North America’s third largest transit system into a transit system that makes Toronto proud. That’s our vision and that’s where you can make your mark. As COO, you will be part of the senior leadership team that will help the TTC realize its mission “to provide a reliable, efficient and integrated bus, streetcar and subway system that draws its high standards of customer care from our rich traditions of safety, service and courtesy.”

A strategic thinker with extensive, progressive senior-level management experience, you will inspire, motivate and engage a large staff complement to ensure a high level of performance, safety and customer service in all areas of your mandate: Bus Maintenance and Shops, Plant Maintenance, Streetcar Maintenance, Subway Operations, Revenue Operations and Operations Control. Among your top priorities will be developing, executing, maintaining and negotiating commercial contracts with key rolling stock and rail infrastructure suppliers, and ensuring that the commercial and contractual position

of the TTC is optimized and protected in rail vehicle/infrastructure- related negotiations. We will count on you to develop an Operations Group structure that aligns program and project delivery with broader corporate goals and objectives, enables effective budget implementation, and ensures the accurate reporting of financial and performance results. Keeping current with developments in operations and the industry overall, you will provide timely, insightful advice and recommendations to senior management and the TTC Board.

You have a track record of success in delivering high-budget, large- scale infrastructure and vehicle-related projects, and fostering culture change in a large, unionized environment, supported by a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, or equivalent. Along with in-depth knowledge of rail operations delivery and management, and vehicle and infrastructure maintenance for a major urban transportation system, you bring a broad understanding of business administration, commercial negotiation, fiscal and human relations practices.

Rail Operational Development Ltd

Due to our continuing growth and customer portfolio, Rail Operational Development Ltd (RODL) is expanding its team and looking to recruit:

RODL is once again seeking operational trainers from a train driving background to work on an ‘as and when’ required basis.
