carte. With a feature dining area outside you can dangle your feet in the cool refreshing water. Te resort features two other restaurants, with

Fish being the signature dining experience. Set over a large jetty illuminated below you have a front row seat to an underwater world of entertainment. We booked our table for 8pm, so as to have pre diner cocktails at the sunset bar overlooking the lagoon. We sprawled out on the large day beds and listened to the resident DJ playing chill out tunes as a perfect way start to our evening. W attracts a consistent stream of famous DJs to keep you entertained, either in the sunset lounge, on the beach or in the exclusive underground night club. Following the recommendation from the chef I opted for scallops to start and my partner the tempura prawns in light crispy batter. I followed with the lobster while my partner opted for the lamb chops medium cooked. Te mains were melt in your mouth delicious and we ended the meal by sharing a plate of banana caramel. Having woken early still suffering the effects of the time difference I made good use of the gym, which overlooks the beach. We found our resident fitness instructor Mark to be really helpful and by the end our stay he had encouraged two or three visits. It was at least enough to alleviate any guilt from all my over- indulgence in the beautiful restaurants! If you fancy a Robinson Crusoe experience

on a grander scale. It has room for entertaining and provides full butler service and in-villa kitchen facilities. It even has a piano left by a previous guest. I really appreciated the attention to detail

throughout the resort, such as the thatched open pavilions with fridges hosting complimentary soft drinks, ice creams, fresh beach towels, sun cream dispensers and toiletries exclusively for guests.

Te dining room is simply called Kitchen and serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner à la

the W has its own private island just five minutes from the resort. You have the option to hire the island for half a day and have breakfast or a BBQ lunch cooked for you. Te more adventurous can have the island all to themselves over night. Te retreat pavilion is set up with a bed and battery operated lighting, together with water and supplies and bathroom facilities. Of course the private island can’t lay claim to all the fabulous facilities found in your villa retreat, but you can still spend the night on your own and experience the desert island solitude, safe in the knowledge you’ll be a five minute boat ride back to the resort in the morning.

Step into paradise and enjoy the following:

• Welcome bottle of champagne

• Away Spa Gift Box • One three-course private coral terrace dinner for two persons

• One romantic W botanical turndown • Daily breakfast at Kitchen
