Mococo N

ow with six stores across the region, Mococo is about to open a fabulous new treasure chest in Liverpool’s fashionable

Metquarter, a few doors down from its original - and much smaller - Liverpool home. T e dazzling new store will see Mococo showcase even more brands, which is music to the ears of the city’s style conscious shoppers. “You’ve no idea how excited we are about the new shop,” says Lee Hooson, managing director at Mococo, with a smile akin to a child’s on Christmas morning. “It is so long overdue and it will be a wonderful addition to Liverpool’s high street, but more importantly, it has given us the opportunity to thank our customers for their loyalty with a fabulous new shopping experience.” T e store will stock the likes of Chlobo,

Shaun Leane and T omas Sabo, along with brand favourites like Pandora and Swarovski, and new additions such as Diamonfi re and Nomination. T e Metquarter emporium will also boast a Champagne and coff ee bar, allowing customers to browse by appointment with a glass of bubbly or a cappuccino, and will

uphold Mococo’s reputation for off ering every shopper a uniquely personal and tailor-made customer experience. It is VIP treatment in every way. Cornering the market for “aff ordable luxury”, Mococo has become synonymous with stylish, modern jewellery, at prices that don’t break the bank. Founded in 2006 by Lee’s wife, Maureen, Mococo’s brand director, the company has continued to prosper since its humble beginnings of a £250 start up investment on the kitchen table, collecting awards and accolades along the way, and seeing stores open in Chester, Mold, Ruthin and Wrexham. Two more openings are planned for early in the new year as well as the exciting advent of Mococo’s own jewellery range. “Business is fantastic and we are both very

fortunate to be in this position,” says Lee. “Once again, turnover is up in excess of 36% on the previous year, with like-for-like sales up over 31%. We may well be bucking the trend in some areas and the only thing I can put it down to is our focus on customer service.” He explains: “Something we are extremely conscious of is knowing that our customers

can spend their money wherever they like. T at keeps us focused. We also make a real eff ort to keep ahead of changing fashions and trends. T is is of the utmost importance, especially in places like Liverpool where fashion is so important to the ladies of the city. “When we’re not working we like to travel, and even when we’re on holiday, we are still looking for new ideas that will sit within our business. T e business never stops and we are forever evolving. It keeps it fresh and exciting.” Talking about working as a husband and wife team, Maureen refl ects: “We are together 24/7 and I am so proud of Lee and the energy that he has brought to the business and its development over recent years. We now have Oliver, our son, working in the business and it is really exciting to be part of such a fast-paced, family business. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it is a big ask working together every day, seven days a week, and then cooking together in the evening (while still talking work), but that said, it’s probably our biggest advantage too. Having Mococo is not like having a business, really; more a fantastic hobby!”
