The award plaques this year were quite attractive (above left). Given the event’s quarter-century of existence, there have been numerous hats, shirts, logos and other paraphernalia associated with the event. The club set up a multi-table display (above center) with all the items as well as many magazine issues (above right) with coverage (most of which seemed to be this one!) which provided a walk down memory lane. drops below the mountain ridge while landing. The heat waves from the engine seem appropriate in a desert setting. Rick Huerta, from Gilbert, AZ, can’t seem to get away from his job, so he had his Windrider 737 (below right) painted in his company livery. The twin HET 70mm fans with HET 2W25 motors shove the 75- inch model around quite nicely. Each motor is fed by a 3S 4300 mAh battery which gives nice performance and flight times.

David Reichart made his “electric jet” (above left) truly an electric jet by converting an old Byron F-16 to edf. Powered by the same Byron fan unit it was designed for, this EBB (Electric Byro Blaster) just works! David Reynolds caught him on departure just as the gear was coming up. Mike Warren (above right) poses with his Hawker Hunter (from Global Jet Club). This Wren 160 powered beauty took home both the Best Scale Flight and Best Markings awards. Lest we forget those who assist us, Ron Schwarzkopf was visiting his

parents from Texas and convinced his father (below left) to come out to the field and continue lending a helping hand. While Ron tries to get some feeling back in his fingers following a very cool and breezy flight, Mr. Schwarzkopf helps to cool off the engine with a leaf blower. George Kreyling, a Phoenix area resident, has a thing for BVM Bandits. His first one is powered with the small and light JetCat P60 which gives nice and mellow performance (below right) to this classic airframe.
