The outboard portion of the strut (above left) is secured using a nut and bolt. For further clarification on the extensive hardware, the E-flite website has a hardware addendum. The jury strut (above right) is fastened to the wing with nuts and bolts but is allowed to pivot with the pins and clips removed from the


strut end. This makes storage and transportation easy and convenient. The fully assembled tail section (below) includes one screw at the base of the rudder. It takes only a couple of minutes to complete and would be very easy to disassemble if a repair is needed.


wild or as mild as you ask it to be. Exercis- ing some self control on the throttle a 4400 mAh pack should last well over 12 min- utes. I don’t actually know because I was totally incapable of using the aforemen- tioned self control! At full throttle the Car- bon-Z Cub makes an intoxicating propeller noise that is hard to pass up. Even without the self control, 10 minutes on the E-flite 4400 mAh 6S pack is no problem. The bat- tery hatch in the Carbon-Z Cub is very easy to open and allows a wide variety of batteries inside.


E-flite has really put together a great airplane with the Carbon-Z Cub. With low rates and/or some exponential, the air- plane can be extremely forgiving and sta- ble. On high rates and self control out the window, the Carbon-Z Cub can perform more like an Extra. At $399.99 for the Bind and Fly version, it’s like getting two air- planes for the price of one. And to add more to its versatility, there will soon be a set of floats available, or perhaps they may al- ready be there as you read this. An excep- tional value indeed!
