Gary Kiedrowski made a par on the first playoff hole


to beat Gregory Garcia and win the President Flight (10.0 handicap or less) with a two-day total of 7-under 135. Kiedrowski was tied for the first-round lead after opening with a 6-under 65. “It’s a great honor (to win),” Kiedrowski said.


Buoyed by a hole-out for eagle from 150 yards on No. 13 (good for a net albatross), Ron Clemens shot a final-round 67 to finish at 4-under 138 and win the Director Flight (10.1-15.1 handicaps) by six strokes over Kevin O’Leary. Charlene Hastings also ran away with the Secretary


Flight (15.2 handicap and above) by six strokes after shoot- ing 62-68–130. Jeff Benrey opened with a 61, but shot a closing 75 to take second.

What A Racquet GC team of Robert Kirby and Gilbert Velarde stormed back with a net 60 to capture the Senior Four-Ball Net Championship at Poppy Ridge with a total of 21-under 123. “We finished early enough that I think the wind hadn’t


picked up too much,” said Velarde, whose team teed off an hour before the leaders, and began the day tied for 10th. Kirby and Velarde finished one stroke clear of Cinnabar


Hills GC, Blackberry Farm GC and Cherry Island GC teams. Cinnabar Hills GC was awarded the second place medal after a scorecard playoff, while Blackberry Farm GC and Cherry Island GC took home third-place medals at 20 under.
