Over the next 12 months, MK Electric will be refreshing its entire Commando range of products, starting with the 40 most popular. MK Commando includes a range of industrial plugs, connectors, socket outlets and appliance inlets - for indoor and outdoor use. The products have IP ratings of 44 and 67, and as such are resistant to most chemicals. The new products also feature nickel plated pins, which are more resis- tant to wear and high humidity, and all plugs and connectors will have an improved cable clamp with a locking mechanism that will apply pressure to the cable for the lifetime of the product. The MK Commando range is well suited for use in industrial environments like work- shops, factories and warehouses - or in the food and beverage industry. The range is also suitable for applications that require frequent connection and disconnection of power in public areas such as airports, hos-

pitals and shopping malls where ingress of dirt or liquids could be a concern. They feature rounded edges and corners for a comfort- able grip, allowing easy connection and disconnection. They also include suspen- sion loops on all products, enabling users to suspend cables above the floor, helping to keep workspaces clear. A unified seal and cable protector - which forms a convex dome - prevents the plug from collecting debris. Furthermore, they also provide cable pro- tection and prolonged earth connection. Ready for the big outdoors
An outdoor version of HARTING’s Han-Yellock(R) industrial connector system has recently been introduced. The new offering features spe- cially selected materials and a surface structure designed to withstand salt mist and indus- trial exhaust gases as well as ultraviolet radiation.
The new outdoor version fea- tures a virtually continuous black appearance, and conse- quently blends with the identi- fying feature of HARTING’s Han(R) M connector series. The pushbuttons for the connector’s locking mechanism is in a con- trasting colour like other Han- Yellock(R) products. It also features a metallic surface in order to withstand the effects of harsh outdoor environments. The durability of a connection with IP67 protection is a major challenge for seals, especially in outdoor areas influenced by ultraviolet radiation and ozone exposure. The Han-Yellock(R) connector system features inte- rior sealing contours, so that UV radiation cannot affect the seal-
ing material, and the functional- ity of the connector is main- tained over a long period. The outdoor version of the
Han-Yellock(R) connector is available in sizes 30 and 60, cov- ering cable entries in sizes from M20 to M40. It features the same ease of wiring, no-tool assembly and simple handling as the stan- dard Han-Yellock(R) family. HARTING
